TGIB Market is one of the ways The Gangis Beautiful, the Amsterdam creative collective Ike co-founded with Foday andYoeri, puts its idea of community into practice. Every edition gives beginningand established makers, from vintage sellers to natural wine, tattoo artists,food and music, an actual platform, and pulls a crowd from every corner of thecity. Four years and sixty plus vendors later, it's grown into one ofAmsterdam's best known recurring markets, and still one of the most direct waysthe collective gives space back to the city that shaped it.
What started four years ago as a smalleight-vendor setup in our old studio has grown into a full-blown market withover sixty vendors and a steady stream of collaborations we're still slightlyamazed by.
The market moves around the city. A newcorner, new light, a new reason to leave the house on a weekend you had zeroplans for. Some of the old locations don't even exist anymore, gone orrenovated into something with a QR code menu. Which just means we find a newone. Small brands doing big things, people you'll swear you already knew, and ageneral refusal to take any of it too seriously.
