Founded in Amsterdam in 2022, STUDIO PAPAwas created as a space where ideas, people and different creative disciplinescould come together. More than a traditional studio, it functioned as a photostudio, art gallery, co-working space, event location and meeting place forAmsterdam’s creative community.
The studio became home to The Gang IsBeautiful, Sebonsa, Mokum Vintage, Osso Archive, photographer Merel Daantje andPeter Ernst Coolen, bringing fashion, photography, art, music and designtogether under one roof.
STUDIO PAPA hosted exhibitions,workshops, talks, photo shoots, movie nights, gatherings and cultural events.It was also the birthplace of the TGIB Market, a platform created to bringindependent makers, designers and creatives together and give them a place topresent and sell their work.
A key part of STUDIO PAPA was makingcreative space accessible to emerging talent. Young makers were able to use thespace at affordable rates, giving them the opportunity to experiment, organizeprojects, build their network and develop their practice.
From 2022 onward, STUDIO PAPA grew intomore than a physical workspace. It became a creative ecosystem built aroundcollaboration, knowledge-sharing and community, connecting establishedcreatives with a new generation of makers.
