Alongside his work as an artist, designer and DJ, Ike Melchizedek also creates and releases original music. His releases are available on Spotify and other major streaming platforms and are produced in collaboration with Karaī.
The collaboration brings together sound and visual art as one practice. Ike is involved in the creative development of every track, while the music is produced together with Karaī. Many of the cover artworks are created, designed or conceptually developed by Ike himself, making each release part of a larger visual world rather than a standalone song.
Projects such as PASENSI, HIGHER, and WOMAN explore different moods, identities and visual languages. Photography, painting, collage, graphic design and art direction are used to give each project its own character.
For Ike, music is an extension of the same multidisciplinary practice found in his art, fashion and DJ work. Sound, image and storytelling continuously influence one another, allowing each release to exist both as music and as a visual work.
