In June 2026, Ike Melchizedek opened the doors of Black Out Atelier, his new studio in Amsterdam.

The opening marked a new chapter in his multidisciplinary practice, bringing together painting, fashion, sculpture, jewellery, design and music within one space. New and existing works were presented alongside handmade objects and pieces developed throughout different periods of his career.

The evening became a multidisciplinary experience with live saxophone performances and DJ sets alongside the exhibition. The audience consisted largely of artists, makers, designers, curators, musicians and other professionals from the creative and cultural field, creating an environment for new encounters, conversations and connections.

Black Out Atelier is more than a working studio. It is an independent space for experimentation, exhibitions, performances, collaborations and exchange a place where different disciplines, perspectives and creative communities can meet.

The opening reflected the purpose of the atelier: to create work, bring people together and build new cultural connections.
